Product Reviews

I’ve used your Pattern Ruler now for two years. Your instructions are easy to follow and I am confident that once each garment is completed, it will be a true fit. I have been complimented on my ability to create garments that flatter each client’s shape.
When you receive compliments like that, then you know that the Pattern Ruler really works.

Living in Paris, I am fortunate enough to see many beautiful clothing shops. Unfortunately, most of the designer clothes are simply unaffordable to the average man on the street. The versatility of the Pattern Ruler allows me to create my own designs at a tenth of the price. I have also found the Designer Manual to be extremely helpful in understanding the way in which darts are used to shape and style a pattern. In fact, the only limit to the designs I am able to create using the pattern rulers is my imagination.

Thank you for a truly ingenious product.

Just a short note to let you know how wonderful I think your Pattern Ruler is. I’ve always looked for something like this, which can assist the ordinary dressmaker to make well-fitting and well-designed garments. The flexibility in being able to create patterns for different sizes has helped me in designing garments without the additional cost of purchasing patterns for the client’s specific size.

Without a doubt, the Point & Pivot Pattern Ruler is definitely the answer to quick and accurate pattern making.
It is easy and simple to use without having to make complicated calculations.

The lingerie ruler on the same principle gives a perfect fit.
I have also used the Italian Pattern Maker but found it to be complicated, in comparison.

Eileen Lewis has put a lot of sweat and tears into this project to make the life of the home and professional pattern maker a dream.

Being a lecturer in fashion and clothing design my students and I were introduced to the Point & Pivot ruler by Eilleen who is a genius. Having the ruler has now taken out the technical workings out of pattern making.
The instruction book makes pattern making a piece of cake!
For my students and I, it is pure magic.
Thank you

I decided to pursue a career in designing. I did a whole years course at a recognized and highly respected fashion house in Durban.
Unfortunately at the end of the year I had second thoughts about continuing in this field as the method of pattern making I learnt involved too much of calculations and was time consuming. The mere though of going through hours of measuring and drawing each time I had to sew disheartened me. I lost my zeal.
Now that I’ve been introduced to your pattern ruler I am experiencing a passionate reawakening for this. I cannot believe that I can make a pattern so easily and in such a short time. I now look forward to my next project and am no afraid of failing or losing interest.
Your pattern rulers definitely hold the secrets of success for anyone wishing to design clothes, be it for themselves or as a career.
Once again, thanks, and all the best.

Re: Point & Pivot Pattern Ruler
As a seamstress I have found the point & pivot method of pattern making the most useful tool in the business. It has helped improve my skills and those of my pupils. It is easy and versatile to use. The manual is well presented, comprehensive and user friendly. The sky is the limit – it opens doors to every aspect of the dress making industry. I have encouraged my pupils to purchase and use this method of
patter making.

I was so impressed at the simplicity of the 1,2,3, 4 etc step design that I purchased both your adult ruler and the lingerie ruler. It was amazing that the same simple step routine has applied in each instance, and together with your comprehensive manuals has made my pattern making

I have also used the ruler for making sari blouses and I must say that customers and I were very impressed & comfortable with the fit.

I must congratulate you and say thank you for designing & producing these rulers and writing the manuals that have made pattern making and sewing a pleasure.

Looking forward to the lingerie ruler, which I hope, will be coming soon.
Yours truly,

Dear Eilleen,
As a dressmaker and sewing teacher of many years standing, I have found your original ruler a huge time and money saver.
So much so, that when the new "stretch" ruler was introduced, it was a must on my shopping list and I have found it just as effective given the fashion trend towards stretch fabrics.

I recommend the ruler to any person wishing to design or copy patterns, change the size of existing patterns with minimum fuss or to draw off basic bodice blocks to work from in a quarter of the time of the old conventional methods I used to use.
The ruler really has made my life easier

Thank you for the tremendous amount of hard work and ingenuity you have put into your very clever product.
Sincerely,

Dear Eilleen,

I would like to thank you for designing the pattern ruler. It has really made dressmaking and designing so much easier.
By being able to follow the simple instructions, which are clearly laid out in your instruction manuals, anyone can create the latest in fashion and what's even better is they actually fit because they are made to the body's measurements.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the ruler as it has opened a whole new dimension, I can now make any pattern for a member of my family with the greatest of confidence.

The pattern ruler is a definite must for anyone who is interested in sewing.

Kind Regards,
